Vocal/Singing exercises


Just like gym training for the muscles, the voice can also be trained through exercise. It is possible to improve every aspect and of course breath, posture and mental attitude are essential to this. Western singing exercises can help stimulate the diaphragm, increase the speed of the tongue (agility), train articulation flexibility and help develop control and power. Working with backing tracks can help train rhythm and timing. There are also a number of eastern techniques which help improve resonance and tone. In overtone chanting for example you learn to sound the harmonic series of a fundamental - in other words sing two notes at once.
